I have confirmed cirrhosis of the liver, and have been given extra drugs to take every day, but although I do have a quite good head of hair, I am losing in my hairbrush, about a weeks worth every day. My sister is a hairdresser, and she really noticed it too. I have checked the new drugs for side symptoms, but hair loss is not on them. Does this happen with cirrhosis and how long will it last....
Is there anything I can do..to stop this happening...

Some people do report thinning hair with cirrhosis but not typically as dramatic as you describe. Drug reactions can certainly affect hair and that combination might not be working with your particular genetics. Worth talking to someone, a pharmacist perhaps, who has studied drug interactions.
What drug are you taking? There is not suppose to be a cure for the cirrhosis and I've had it for 20 years and I have not ever taken anything until I started on the research pill. I only started losing hair when I went on a weightloss plan to help heal my cirrhosis.
