Hi could anyone please help me understand these ultrasound findings?
He had sudden Alopecia about 6 months ago, about 2 weeks ago he went to dr. To ask about it and they ran blood tests to rule out underlying conditions....... His results showed high cholesterol & raised ALT. So they sent him for a scan... Results attached. 44yr male fit, slightly overweight, doesn't drink.
He has only been eating vegetables fruit and water since he came back from results 2 days ago, and he isn't very talkative & said they will repeat the scan in 3 months....can someone please help me understand what these results mean? Is it something reversible by diet?

Looks normal other then the fatty liver it should be approximately 15 cm at the right lobe. Cut out the sugars , white breads , white rice , salt is just as bad for a fatty liver so cut back on that as well. I have this problem as well my right lobe was 22 cm and was pushing on my spleen causing it to be enlarged as well. I went on a very strict diet. In 3 month my spleen was back to normal size and my liver went down to 19cm. I still have a pressure at my liver when I lay on my back. I need to keep up on my diet.
You guys are playing doctor and opening yourself up to liability by interpreting test results. You can give diet and lifestyle advice and offer encouragement, but need to be careful otherwise.
Hi, I just wanted to assure you I understand this is a forum & doesn't replace a dr's interpretation... I just needed help to understand the jargon used in the report...at least I have some idea now 🙂
I can see what your saying to some degree. That said no one is playing Dr as you put it. People come to this site to give advise as they understand it and what they’ve been advised by there Dr.
It’s up to the person looking for opinions to seek medical advise. Coming on and giving legal advise is a liability to you.
You told her the ultrasound "looks normal". Yet the impression is hepatic steatosis. You're not qualified to render an opinion, and as a medical malpractice attorney, i would say you are liable if she relies on what you said. Just be careful. And yes, you were playing doctor. Look at the administrator's (wayne's) responses. They are always qualified by saying, you need to have a doctor look at this. Don't get defensive, i'm trying to help you.
Yes I seen the report. Im not a Dr and Debra isn’t the patient taking the advise for Her. She’s asking for some help understanding things. Again Debra is asking not for her as she repeatedly says HE went to an appointment 6 months ago and 2 weeks ago he went to the DR. So the option wasn’t given to the actual patient. And even if it were the patient I have a constitutional right to give an option. This sight is filled with people asking for advise on medications and so on , But thanks for helping. For the Record Debra (that’s not the patient ) but the one asking for some opinions i’m NOT A Dr I’m a Patient struggling with several health condition.
Just been asked to provide a urine sample tomorrow to check for blood in urine, does anyone know why they would check this? And if there is, what does that indicate?
