Fatty and inflamed liver. What to do? Please help!
Well, hopefully you have a doctor who can guide you. It is not possible for us to be of a lot of help except generally. Liver problems can be caused by a variety of things. Diet is high on the list as is alcohol use but there are auto-immune diseases, toxins, infections, genetics, and your needs may be different depending of the cause. In most situations diet is an important part so here is a link to a lot of food and nutrition information

Thank you so much Nash2. I got a blood test and my AST was at 43. ALT at 87. Cholesterol at 140 and Bilirubin at 1.0 my doctor sent me to abdominal echography and he told me that I had a fatty liver and also some inflammation. but I am really scared because I have nauseas and I also lose weight
One thing you might do is calculate your FIB-4. that might give you some additional information to discuss with your doctor. If your results are low there is a high probability that you do not have NASH, the more serious form of fatty liver, and you can have less stress perhaps. If your result is high, there is a high probability that you have advancing fibrosis and you need to see a hepatologist. There is a large gap in the middle, of course, where you have to ask more questions. Here is a link to get you started.

Hi Wayne, is me again and sorry for bother you. I did the FIB-4 calculation and it says that I am at "0.63 points - advanced fibrosis excluded (approximate fibrosis stage: Ishak 0-1 (sterling et al 2006) do you know what these results mean?
Thank you in advance 🙏
It means the probability that you have serious liver fibrosis, NASH, is low. It doesn't prove that you don't have fatty liver disease but if you do it is likely in the earlier stages. This isn't a diagnosis but might help you with how worried you are right now. Elevated enzymes can be caused by a lot of different things like infections, toxins, autoimmune, etc. so it is important to follow up with your doc to figure it out.
Hi Nash2 ,
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last October 2019 then I was on chemotherapy during that process I developed fatty liver then doctor said it’s nothing I will be fine , I insisted to stop chemotherapy but she said you be fine when after chemo treatment finishes. After that I had mastectomy in this duration of pandemic then I was asked to come for radiation. Now I am on Tamoxifen from April 2020 , few days ago I had egg and yogurt in breakfast with Brown bread . Then in the afternoon I had cucumber and salad and coffee one cup for the first time as I am not coffee, tea or alcohol person at all . Straight after I have had changed my skin colour into pale and I felt really weird, had stomach pain , pins , and nausea. I am still dealing with radiation side effects. I got catch 22 if I don’t take tamoxifen I will develop cancer again if I have it I develop cirrhosis one of the side effects of tamoxifen.
I don’t know what to do 😭😭I am really scared of food now , I do try to go for walk time to time as I know that I have liver condition as well . Can you please guide me as you the expert. Last time 3 weeks ago I had blood test and my oncologist said that in my blood count I am Only 10 numbers down from the normal liver function .
I have lost my health since I have diagnosed with cancer .
Please guide me if you can ☹️I have also sore and lymphoma in my right arm as surgeon removed 6 or may be more lymph node from my underarm . Thank you

Hi Fairy
I wish we could be of help to you. Cancer drugs are so hard on the body for most people. There aren't any great solutions if you have to take it. I have no idea if you might be able to switch over time to some other drug but chemo is hard on the body for sure. People will have varying response to food so a lot is finding out what your body will manage. Not quick or simple. The main source of energy is likely to be the oils. Olive and coconut oil are the easiest for the body to process. I take 4 tablespoons a day of extra virgin olive oil but I'm not dealing with chemo so not a similar situation.
Perhaps there will be someone here who has had an experience similar to yours though I imagine most will be on a breast cancer forum.
Sorry that I can't help much but hoping for the best.
Wayne
Thank you 🙏🏻 at least you have told me so I can contact breast cancer forum .

I have non alcoholic fatty liver and a 2 cm cyst I am so worried
In many cases, fatty liver causes no noticeable symptoms. The main cause of fatty liver is the excess fat is stored in liver cells, where it build up and causes fatty liver disease. In case of liver inflammation diagnosed after blood tests. Yes, your doctor can lead you in this situation.
