Well Bubbles, you are in good company. Many of us are in a similar boat. The good news. The condition usually develops slowly so you have time to act but it is critical to do so. Generally, unless you have some other issues the management is lifestyle. Diet and exercise. If you are at F3, be sure of your status by seeing a specialist if you can, you still have a functioning liver so if you can stop progression your prospects are not terrible. Here is a link to our approach to diet but listen to your doc.

Find a Hepatologist to care for and advise you. Don’t let others advise you to see a Gastroenterologist.

I agree with Schnappy. My Hepatologist is the best! I trust him with my life. Always check with him before I take any advice from anyone else even another Dr. my doc is out of Chicago and holds clinics in outlying area as well.

Welcome Bubbles. It is scary. I found this website so helpful though and I'm sure you will get a lot of information and support. Since my diagnosis a year ago I've changed my diet and increased my exercise. Ive given up sugar and processed food. I've given up alcohol. It's been one year come April. Well....I did have 1/2 glass of bubbles on Christmas Day and another on my birthday. Lol. Good luck. But do whatever it takes.

Listen to your body and don't eat red meat. Learn what is hard for your liver to digest and don't eat it. Rest when tired. Try to eat right, I know it's hard and exercise which is even harder. I am on the go go go so much and get little exercise but my Dr says because I have continued to live my life with a positive attitude and listen to my body is why I'm still alive 20 years later. I'm on a second phase of the research meds and the itching is about to take me away some nights, but I feel better than I have in a long time. So there may be a cure coming very soon for NASH patients. This pill is to get rid of the cirrhosis. Now with all of us in Stay at Home mode in Ohio, they don't want me at the hospital to be check to see if it is working, I did manage to get my blood work done right before they shut everything down. Don't get sick, you are now high risk. Stay well. take care ..Live, tomorrow is never promised, but live right.
