Just an update following my original post regarding a study that i was invited to take part in. I had my first fibroscan a few days ago and apparently i dont have any fibrosis which means i am not eligible for the study. I was pleased that my NASH had not progressed but disappointed that i cant be involved in the study. The nurse said keep doing what i am doing because its working. I have to have 3 monthly blood tests and go back in September for another Fibroscan. I have lost just over 33lbs and following a lowcarb diet with intermittent fasting on alternate days. No alcohol, no added sugar, limited fruit and recently i have cut out red meat so mostly protein, fish, salmon and lots of vegetables. I also exercise 3-4 times a week which includes weights, yoga and walking. I take milk thistle daily and slippery elm for my Diverticulosis. I also take bcaa and Vitamin E plus a probiotic and multivitamin. Its not easy some days but I know that its slowing the progression and thats all we can really do. This last 6 months has been a rollercoaster of emotions and frustration, confusion and change but mostly growth because sometimes it takes something huge in our lives to make us stop and look at our journeys. I wasnt a drinker and assumed that was what caused liver problems so I was shocked when i finally got my diagnosis but it was my diet choices and too much self medicating for everything from sleep problems to back pain and not realising that certain over the counter medications were causing so much damage. I havent had any medication for 6 months and that has to be a good thing.

I am by far no expert but from what i have read on the subject you are on the right track to halting your NASH with diet and weightloss, its how I reversed fatty liver.
Weightloss is the answer!
Have a look at this study. A massive 90% of people who lost 10% of their bodyweight resolved their NASH some even reversed their fibrosis! 😮

Even those who didnt quite manage to lose 10% weight, improved their condition.
Again, youre on the right track!
