I report that I have regressed my cirrhosis by changing my lifestyle. Some have asked if I really have cirrhosis. In case anyone is interested, here is a slide from a 2016 biopsy. The blue is scar tissue, a classic cirrhotic slide though note that there is no fat. This was one year after beginning the diet and lifestyle changes we made.

Great job on removing the fat from your liver. I’ve never looked at a liver biopsy slide before. I would be interested in knowing if this slide looks any different than the first biopsy you had upon diagnosis. I think I remember you writing that you were unexpectedly diagnosed because of gallbladder surgery. I’m curious if there are changes in the scar tissue as well as fat. There is a lot of literature out there that indictes reversal of fibrosis and even cirrhosis when the underlying cause is removed. Especially in Hepatitis cases. Once the hepatitis C is removed, the liver, after some time, can heal to the point that that the doctors in this study couldn’t even tell the patient/liver had been sick. Also indicateds in the same article that the doctors can’t explain and don’t understand why in some patients there is true regression and not in others. All very interesting. I really appreciate all your sharing and if helps me along my journey. Thanks Wayne. Hope you’re having an amazing morning.
It varies a lot, but once you remove whatever is damaging the liver it does try to recover. It is a complex chemistry. Here is a link to a talk I gave which has some biopsies in it that you may find interesting
