I have had fatty liver since around 2002. I haven't ever tried to do anything about it but I want to get healthier now. I just retired at 62. My doctor said to eat low fat but I don't eat a high fat diet as it is. What do I need to do?

Well, Janet, you face a common problem. There is a lot of conflicting information and a lot of doctors provide limited real information. Diet advice for years has been low fat but we have never had a fatter society so that makes for an interesting problem. I will tell you what we suggest and point you to what we believe is good evidence, however, our approach is low saturated fat but high unsaturated fat. Our approach to diet is quite specific and we take a food as medicine approach. We do not offer this as medical advice and suggest that you work with your doctor to work out your strategy.
