I have been fasting 72 hours most months for a while, but I think I had long Covid for a while.
I am now feeling better - and I had my first vaccination 22 days ago - so, according to recent research, I should be 100% certain to avoid hospitalisation from CoViD. (I am only 71 - but I got vaccinated as I am a voluntary driver for the NHS.)
I might have coffee with cream most days.

Hi S11m , have just seen your post, how is your fast going? I have been trying to get into a longer fasting mode for a few weeks now, but the longest I have done is 28hrs. I don’t know why, it’s just that mentally I don’t seem to have the focus. My situation hasn’t changed, do you have any ideas?. I have finished eating for the day now, I will be in bed by 1930hrs as am up at 0400hrs for work. I don’t eat at work and will aim to fast for at least 48 hrs. Here goes!
It is not just about determination or masochism...
How long have you been (intermittent) fasting?
Have you been on a low carb diet (LCHF or Keto) for how long?
Do you just “lose focus” or do you get weak, faint or hungry?
Until you get into it, depending what you do, you might not be able do a normal day’s work, or maintain an appropriate level of concentration, e.g. to drive.
I have been doing IF and LCHF since May 2020. I have been struggling over last 10wks when my weight has been up and down. I also binge eat, no binge for 13 days. Last year I gradually extended my fasts to 72hrs, after first 24hrs it felt relatively easy. I haven't been finding it difficult to extend my fast recently due to any physical problems, just mentally struggling.
Hi S11m , I did 20hrs, had lost 3 lbs this week. However, I had a very bad chocolate binge on Friday. Back on LCHF yesterday, will try to have an extended fast before weigh in on Wednesday, if I can. how did you do?
Has someone reported me? When i clicked reply, I got a notification about sticking to community guidelines.
Sorry, if anyone has a problem with me, say it to my face. I am just about ready to leave this platform. I feel more and more unwelcome everytime I visit. Which makes me sad, as I worked hard to try to keep this and the LCHF forum going.
I have just realised, there are about infinite forums of Facebook. If my efforts here aren't welcome, I will move on.

S11m, I would love to join you, but this weekend is too intense. I am volunteering across London, cycling, standing in the cold etc etc.
I will try to fast when I can, but that might not be for a few weeks.
HI Subtle_badger , I have had that screen pop up after all my posting yesterday and just now. I have never had it before and I have not knowingly broken any rules.
Hi, all - I am nearly halfway through my fast - and feeling fine.
As I am at my target weight I ate a bit more for a few days before the fast - and I have lost 4lb over the last 24 hours - all gut-fill and fluid, of course.
Food gives you energy, which helps keep you warm... so keeping warm walking 5km in freezing temperatures four days into a fast will be... interesting.
Only about 28 hours to go.I felt fine walking 5km yesterday, but yesterday evening and this morning I have had some ectopics and Atrial Fibrillation. I felt unenergetic doing my regular morning exercises this morning.
Yes - I have now completed the 100 hours. The first two or three days are the worst - and it gets easier after that.
During the fast, I did five 5km + walks - in cold weather - most of them in snow. I found it a bit more difficult than usual to do ten "cheat" pull-ups (on a door frame), but I did not slow down much on the walks, which I did last time I did a 100-hour fast.
According to Dr Mindy Pelz's fasting benefits chart:
Immune reboot does not get to the maximum until about 80 hours, and the intestinal stem cells boost does not get to the maximum until nearly 100 hours.
Autophagy is one of the main reasons to fast - and that peak at 75 hours and then decreases.
