3 year Old constipated

My 3 year old us having trouble with pooing but is also we believe withholding as he is scared. He has for the last 6 month only been going approx 1 time per week. We are currently 9 day since his last movement and he is in a lot of discomfort. You can feel the poop in his bowl / intestine when you lightly touch his stomach.

We were given localise from the doc and he has been o n it 5 days and it has had no effect

Any advice would be appreciated.

Change to movicol and request a stimulant laxative too. Have a read and watch if these

Have you tried syrup of figs?

We use that and lactulose, we have to use it regularly to keep my little girl regular as she’s a big poo witholder!!
