We’ve had ongoing issues with my 8yr old son day and night wetting. I literally feel like we’ve tried everything and we’re fed up with his consultant. He basically told me he doesn’t know what else he can offer 😡
I asked if they’re was another specialist or a clinic, and he told me we can go to London to Evelina.
We’ve been reading up on them and we’re feeling confident that they can offer the help we need.
Has anyone else been referred to them? How did you find it? Did it take long for you to get an appointment? x

Lots of good reports on the Evelina from posters here over the years - you can probably do a search to see them.
Don't know waiting times, though most services have a bit of a lag at the moment catching up from missed appts during Covid. You could call them and ask, then chase consultant/GP in a month or 6 weeks after they have referred to check progress.
Ps I do understand, our son was just like that for many years, and consultant had run out of things to try - had all kinds of tests ambulatory, tilt table, MRI scans etc Have they told you what is the matter? Do they have a clue?
Treatment here - solifenicin and movicol after trying other drugs - have to say that it has got better as he has got older. He is now 12 and very slowly has got less urgency and frequency (was 20 times a day) - still not where average child is, and still wets bed 3 or 4 times a week.
Continence nurses at hospital paeds urology dept did say that we may see changes happen as he became a teen (for boys there is an impact around puberty with prostate changes/grows).
Hi. My youngest son was referred to the Evelina when he was 6. He is now nearly 9 and we are still under their care. I cannot rate the team there highly enough. We have been seen regularly even throughout Covid and have no complaints. There is still a long road ahead for our son but I have absolute confidence in the urology/nephrology doctors we have there.
