Our eldest son, almost 5, doesn’t wake to pee. His younger brother, 3, manages to hold pee all night. They share a room. Reading about bedwetting alarms but worried this might wake youngest and then inadvertently cause him to develop bedwetting because he’s being woken up. Anyone any experience one way or the other?

Bedwetting alarms, any impact on siblings?
I would personally hold off for now, he is still young and essentially you are waiting for the hormone vassopressin to be produced and that is not something you can control. there are things however, you can do to help, ensure that he drinks plenty of water during the day, this will help to train the bladder to hold more liquid, do not lift to take to the toilet during the night as this only manages the issue and not deal with it, but do take him to the toilet twice before bed and make sure he completely empties his bladder, count to 30 you will be surprised how much wee comes out again. Do not restrict liquids after a certain time, it does not work. Rule out constipation, it is the guilty culprit until proven otherwise.
Hiya - agree with everything said on the other reply. I don’t think alarms are advised for this age?? I had one daughter dry at 2 and and 8 year old we are still working on! The age they get the hormone can vary massively. But to answer your question, our alarm can be set on vibrate only and therefore doesn’t wake anyone except my daughter… and remember, you’ll have to change the sheets in the night which will wake up the other one anyway!!
