Recently my nearly 4.5 year old decided she didn't want to wear nappies at night. We had been wondering about giving it a go to see what happened as she hadn't been showing any other signs but it has been 2 years since she came out of nappies in the day.
I expected for her either to have a few dry nights, in which case we would definitely carry on, or be wet every night in the middle of the night, in which case we would stop as this would mean she wasn't ready.
She has not had a single dry night and it's been about 4 weeks. However, there have been a number of nights that she's gone through until 6-7am before having an accident, and one or two occasions where she has told us that she has had an accident as soon as she woke up. It sounds like her bladder is so full she just hasn't got time to get to the potty.
We are really exhausted and I would like to stop and try again in a couple of months. But I worry that if we do that, she will lose the progress that she has seemed to have made - I wonder if she has started to hold her wee longer because there is no nappy? But I cannot be sure that this wasn't happening already, because when she was in a nappy she wasn't waking up so I had no idea of the timing of her wees.
I'm just not sure what to do and wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation?
