Has anyone tried the MOP enema protocol. After years or urine and poo accidents and trying numerous laxatives and medication I have came across this protocol where they use enemas!

I would only do this under the strict guidance of your GP.

Thanks for your reply, the urologist has prescribed enemas which we did find reduced wetting accidents but it isn’t the same protocol. I would rather proceed with the support of a doctor. Have you tried the protocol before?

I haven't, I have heard of it but like I said would only go by the instructions and guidance of a Dr or other healthcare professional.

Sounds like you are in the same position as us. Have you read the book? When I read it, everything my daughter has been through is exactly what is described. We have started the enemas under the care of her urologist and we are seeing a difference although it will take time

I haven’t read the book but are getting desperate we have accidents all the time, no idea how to get our GP on board of if we should try something like suppositories first …

We use enemas and the poo accidents have completely stopped. The gp wouldn’t agree to giving us the medication long term, it had to come from consultant however you can buy the enemas but I wasn’t keen without doctor overseeing it. We were really at our wits end with wetting accidents but it all makes sense now that the constipation is causing it

I would love to know how to do this, how did your child tolerate the procedure? What is the brand you use?

My daughter has been through a lot and does tolerate things really well. The website explains a lot of it and I did email and they get back really quick. We use micralax micro-enema but there are all different types.

Do you have an update on the enema success?

After using daily for a number of months we stopped using as the wetting accidents were continuing and the next step would be the overnight enemas which I wasn’t happy about trying without a doctor over seeing. She is in a better routine pooing every day using laxido and toilet sits after breakfast and dinner, the enemas may have helped this but our main issue is urine accidents. Does your child have bowel or bladder issues?
