Son eating his poo

Hi,

My 2 and 1/2 year old sons awaiting his autism assessment appointment but a big problem we are having is him eating his poo. Everyone I’ve spoken to including HV and Pre school teachers and doctors haven’t heard of it very much but it’s meant to do with the sensory side of things. He also smears it which they’ve heard of and is associated with autism but he mainly eats it. Just wondering if there’s any other parents out there that have children who do this, would make me feel a bit like I’m not on my own.

My son used to do this. It was when he was constipated. Treating the constipation was the answer for us. He also smeared loads. Pls don’t feel alone xx my son doesn’t do it anymore
