My question is for how long shall I use Senokot on my 3.5 year old. He is stool withholding and we went to Laxido a half a sachet per day and Senokot every day 5 ml and it seems to make him go regularly. We are to see a specialist in September. I’m just worried about Senokot and overusing it etc. Please help .

Use it for as long as needed.

Have you tried lactose or movicol? Senna is a stimulant and can be quite harsh on the insides. Movicol is on prescription and draws water to the bowel making it much safer for long term use.
