Private scans

Can I just ask, when people have paid for private ultrasound scans have you also had an appointment with a Consultant or just the scan and then had results reported back to GP? I am clueless with private health care and am finding myself getting a bit bamboozled.. Thanks

We had a specialist do the scan and he talked us through every organ and what he could see.

I think it depends who is doing the scan. If it’s being done by a consultant radiologist then they can discuss scan findings with you and explain what this means going forward. If you are scanned by a sonographer they can discuss what they see on the scan (although they don’t have to) but it won’t be discussed in full as they are not drs.
