I'm so frustrated with my daughter just being given Laxido and told its constipation /overflow /incontence and she might grow out of it. I wondered if going private might might to lead to more help?
Has anyone had success going Private?: I'm so... - ERIC
Has anyone had success going Private?
From my experience GP don't seem able to help. If you are not already with a paeditritian I would insist you have a referal and really push for it. I have also considered private also.
We went private just to speed things up then when problems continued the private consultant referred us to an NHS consultant who is brilliant and loads of support from specialist nurses who we can ring anytime. It was worth the private consultation cost to get to the NHS quicker. Sad that that’s the case but it’s the way things are...
Thanks for your reply. Same question as Hessers...what specialists and consultant did you see? Who has been helpful?
What private specialist did you see? Is it a paediatric Gastro enterologist? I’m having the same problem
I’m considering that option with my thirteen year old son too. Our referral got kicked out by paediatrics last year. They referred us to Eric who have been an absolute god send. I’ve now got a different doctor on the case who was appalled by paediatrics response to the referral and is hopefully fighting to get us an appointment with a specialist
I’m glad I’ve found this forum and hearing we are not alone in this tough journey
