So it’s been 2 years just over and my daughter is now 11 and still continues with pain even on the colonoscopy they found she was blocked yet I’ve been told they still managed a good look and all was fine..she’s had tests after tests tubes after tubes and I’m exhausted! Seeing her go through such a ordeal to the point I’ve had to pay for a MRI myself to prove to the last consultant she was still blocked and she was!!! I’m now under a really good Consultant I feel confident with yet still no answers on to why my daughter continues like this..she’s been in Senna and picolax for so so long I did take her off for a bit as I read it causes lazy bowel plus I didn’t want all this medication for her still as it wasn’t really working she did really well without it and I’ve been paying for reflexology which I felt helped along the way ..now it’s been discussed my daughter goes to a hospital that has a school for a while and I wondered if anyone else has had this option and taken it? I feel sick and upset about it but I know this could be the break through we need for our daughter, please help

My son was very unwell with severe constipation for a long time. The turning point was fully disimpacting him which took months. Also he saw a paediatric surgeon in the end who did an examination under anaesthetic and then prescribed balloon irrigation system. He’s on very high meds and irrigates with a large volume of water every day. Basically he has his life back. It was a 3 year slog in the meantime with countless hospital visits and 50 percent attendance at school. I think I may know the hospital you are on about. I did look at it for my son at one point. I would say do anything that works. Private msg me if you want more info or recommendations of individual NhS consultants. I felt like I was fighting a war and eventually after much battling we won!
