7 year old son constipated need help with meds

My son had just been given movicol trying to give it to him he had one bit and now won’t have any more he says it makes him feel sick any ideas he needs to have it

You need to mix each sachet with 62.5ml of water. After that you can add squash or fruit juice to make it taste nice. We use fruit juice.

Also they do a chocolate Movicol, my son wouldn't take the normal one even with juice, but drinks the chocolate one with no fuss, good luck!

In addition to what others have posted, if you make up the movicol, leave it in the fridge so it is nice and cold, it makes it more palatable.

Try Vimto. I keep the made-up Movicol in the fridge then when I get son a drink make it up with about 1/4 Movicol then the cordial & top up with more water. Tbh he’s getting quite strong Vimto at the mo to mask the taste. The other thing that’s worked for us is Alpro growing-up milk, which is quite sweet I think.

We are currently doing the deimpaction process with my son meaning lots of Movicol throughout the week. My son is very stubborn and has previously not even tried it however the way we have managed it is bribery and making it magical! We call it his 'potion' and it's in a cool cup with a twist straw. Also we told him Santa has sent an advent calendar to help him to take it so everyone he finishes a sachet he opens a door to his calendar. It's not a long term solution but hope it helps you for now.
