Hello, I haven’t been on here for awhile as so much has been going on.
After going back to the enuresis clinic and changing diet, fluid intakes and Movicol, with no change, it feels like we are still at square one.
We have now been using the alarm for 2 weeks and although the alarm does 80% of the time wake my son up, by this time he is completely soaked and no wee to empty once at the toilet. Sometimes this is still leading to bed changes 2/3 times a night.
Luckily it’s the school holidays, but dreading when they are back as he is so tired. 😔

Hi JessGirl, we started the bed alarm at the start of February and I’m delighted to say that we are on the second week of him sleeping all night without peeing and he’s no longer wearing the alarm! He turned 9 yesterday. Not sure how old your boy is but please persevere with the alarm. We had 6 weeks of soaked boxers and sheets (I layered them with bed mats so all I had to do was strip the sheet and mat and a dry bed was underneath) but the alarm I bought had different alarm tones and volumes so I changed it each week so he didn’t get used to it. I had lost all hope then gradually he went from 2 nights a week sleeping all night to 3 then 4 then we went to Holland 2 weekends ago and we forgot it but he slept all night with no accidents. When we got back we said let’s not wear it and see how you go. Last night he had a sleepover for his birthday and was so happy to tell his friend he didn’t need a pull up anymore! I’m sure there might be the odd accident but he is so happy and so are we and I’m glad I didn’t give up just because he wasn’t dry in 3 weeks like others have claimed. You’re not alone!
Thank you for your reply it gives me that little bit of hope at the end.
So glad that the alarm has worked for you.
My little boy is 8 in Aug, I’m determined to give it a good 2-4months to see if it does make a difference. He is asking for sleepovers but I know he doesn’t want to wear pull-ups so fingers crossed for the summer. X
Our son is 7 1/2 and Although we’ve not cracked it yet, using an alarm is definitely doing something! It rarely wakes him (although it wakes us at the other end of the house!), but he has started just weeping enough to set off the alarm and then holding it until we manage to wake him. He’s not ‘dry’ at night, but he’s drier than he was. Keep trying! The person I borrowed it from said she used it for a year with her daughter before she was securely dry. X
Hi JessGirl, My little boy is 7 and we have the Rodger pants and started wearing them during the day first which helped his day time mini accidents & i think might have also tuned him into the alarm and way it works. We have been using them 3 weeks now and have had 5 dry nights in total which we are delighted with. On the nights the alarm goes off it’s only a small amount and then he gets up to void the rest in the toilet. We also have had to change the alarm sound which is feature, as there was one sound he just didn’t hear at all.
Granted I’m not saying we are anywhere near to complete dry nights but coming from soaked pull ups to this is fantastic for us.
Hope this is some reassurance for you. I’m delighted to have found this page as it’s great to hear from others.
