Adjusting Movicol Dose - Advice needed.

My daughter has been on Movicol for just over a week now due to stool withholding because it hurt to go and has been everyday for 6 days in a row! We are so pleased the Movicol has worked and we weren't told to do disimpaction but the 3 sachets a day has meant every poo is like a cow pat consistency. I want to adjust the amount we give her to get to the soft sausage but I am worried about yo-yoing back and forth and i don't want to take any steps back if we can help it as a week of going everyday has not broken the 18mths of fear and I know it will take some time. If anyone has any advice on how to slowly reduce her Movicol to slowly change the consistency of her poo it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi so pleased that the movicol is working that's marvellous news. To reduce it go really slowly. Make up the movicol and take out one teaspoon at a time over a few days . Good luck x
