Bed wetting regression

Please tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

My lb was dry at night from June last year for approx 8 months (2.5 years)

He then regressed and we went back to wet beds every night for quite a few months.

For he last few months we've been getting 2/3/4/5 dry beds a week and now this week he's had none!!! (I had an operation at the end of last week, so don't know if this has affected him)

Please tell me I'm over analysing and that things will improve and he will get back on track.

He's 3yrs 9months

Just feel liked we'd made a breakthrough and it's all gone backwards 😢

It's amazing at to what our little people pick up on, he may be aware that you've been poorly and a break in your routine with him or the house in general may well be playing a part. Don't worry about too much get yourself better and try to relax as worry and stress after any type of op can hamper your recovery. Double the layers on his bed and use the stick on bed mats between the layers so that you don't have change the whole bed and remake every time to save time and your effort.

It's also worth asking his preschool/nursery/childminder if he goes if something has happened. Make sure he's drinking enough during the day as this can sometimes help if his bladder is irritated in some way. And talk to him he's old enough to tell you if there's something worrying him or if he feels unwell somehow. If it doesn't improve it's worth popping to the gp in case he has a UTI. I have a boy too and he didn't fully empty himself as he was always rushing to get back to something more interesting.

Best wishes and hope you're better soon and your son is too.

HI, there are children who go start wetting the bed after a long period of dryness (after the age of 5 its called secondary enuresis). No one can predict if your child will be dry or wet and when. There is only statistics, at the age of 5 20% of children wet at night, and this % goes down along the years.

However using a bed wetting alarm can resolve the problem, you can read more here:
