Laxative dosage times

My daughter is on sennakot syrup ATM for her withholding habit and we give her the dose before bed as recommended.

However, she wakes up as soon as she's passed a bm, which is getting earlier and earlier by the day. Once she's awake and had her nappy changed, she won't go back to bed and is getting more tired and grumpy as the day progresses. (She's been up since 4am this morning and doesn't nap either)

I was thinking about giving her a dose first thing in the morning instead, hoping that we'd have a bm in the late afternoon/early evening instead, which wouldn't disrupt her sleep.

But do I miss the dose this evening and wait until tomorrow morning to give it to her?

Or do I give her the dose tonight and tomorrow morning?

I don't want to give her too much, but at the same time I don't want her going backwards with this, if you know what I mean?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

It's obviously working well for her. I would try the morning instead and maybe be a t some point half a spoonful . Good luck xx

I would skip the bedtime one and just give it the next morning

My reply maybe too late but I would give a half dose in evening, half dose next morning and then following morning full dose and then hopefully the new morning doses will result in evening poo. Senokot really helped our daughter after years of not getting very far with movicol.
