I’m the same age as you and have used Alprostadil mainly as Caverject injections for about eight years. I’ve found that my sensitivity has very gradually declined during that time. The only alternative that I’m aware of in the UK is Invicorp injection. I’ve used Invicorp mainly when there were supply problems with caverject. Its side effect profile is different. Less stinging / pain but more flushing. I certainly didn’t improve sensitivity though, possibly even reduced it. Might be worth a try though.
Thanks for your reply Mark. I`ve tried Invicorp but found it far less effective than Caverject. I guess all medications and treatments become less efficacious over time. How is your sensitivity know? Have you had any success in restoring it? I`m just wondering if the situation will become even worse over time, especially as nothing else seems to help my ED.
My loss of sensitivity has been very gradual and I tend to put it down to advancing years rather than a direct effect of the caverject. I've just started an experiment. I'm injecting with a silicone cock ring in place and keeping it on for 20-30 minutes. The idea is to retain more of the drug in my penis and improve the enlargement of my penis head. I've always found that caverject is excellent for rigidity but often leaves the head flacid. First attempt was quite positive.
The cock ring approach improves the effectiveness and reduces flushing from the invicorp.
Hi Mark, many thanks again for your reply. I have used cock rings after injecting, but using one before injecting is definitely worth trying. I also agree that advancing years may also have an effect on the efficacy of Caverject. I very much appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. There are others in this forum whose aim seems to be to lecture and pontificate, rather than offer advice and assistance.
I appreciate your advice, and tried using a cock ring immediately after injecting, as it occurred to me that I wanted the alprostadil to reach the corpus cavernosum before constriction. The results were excellent, and I`m grateful for your advice.
Do you seriously think I haven`t looked at alternatives, and what exactly is the Dr/Patient piece of wisdom? If this is your attempt at support and help then please don`t bother.
The doctor started me off on Caverject only because I didnt want to wait a week for his componded version at 1/3 of the price , in 2019 it started to hurt after 12 months so changed to Trimix then Quadmix with lower doses but stronger medication. Now I use 5-10mg tadifil daily and believe that helps to keep the quadmix injection low at 0.08 mils, also try and limit the quadmix to 4-6 injections a month....any more it hurts too much
I was using daily Tadalifil, and the results were good, but came off it due to low blood pressure issues. I`m thinking of reducing my Amlodipine and taking up Tadalifil again. I`m presuming Trimix and Quadmix are injectables as these aren`t freely available in the UK? In what respect were they more effective for you than Caverject? Thanks for your advice.
I asked a specific question of a medication that I had experienced historic success with, but had a recent unwanted and unexpected side effect. I expected and hoped for a common sense, helpful, specific reply from someone who had first-hand experience with Caverject. What is unwanted and unhelpful, is an interjection from someone with clearly has no experience of the product, or seemingly even the affliction of ED. Ignorant, uneducated and unsympathetic comments such as yours make sufferers feel more isolated and powerless. You are clearly incapable of exercising common sense or empathy, and I suggest you leave this forum before you cause more upset and distress. If you persist with your benighted opinions, I will contact the forum moderator to have you removed.
The fact that you continue to repeat the rhetoric of "asking your doctor" proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you know absolutely nothing about the issue of ED. General practitioners have a little or no expertise in this field, which is why they almost exclusively refer you to a specialist urologist, a certified sex therapist or doctor of human sexuality. Unless you are in a position to fund these referrals, you will have a waiting time of at least 1-2 years. Is the mist starting to clear as to my position? Your ignorance on this matter is breathtaking, and your attitude is appalling. You clearly have voyeuristic tendancies, and gain pleasure from observing and passing judgement on those experiencing medical misfortunes. For your information, I have contacted the mediator of this forum to report your behaviour, and sincerely hope you are ejected or barred.
Clyde isn`t that common a name in Wales, and if it came from someone with an intellect it could almost be humorous. Regardless of wether I`ve been in this forum for 10 years or 10 minutes, everyone is deserving of empathy and respect. You credit yourself with being able to dispense common sense, but even if it were true, your personality vacuum negates any stoicism. If you considered my response to your hectoring as a temper tantrum, then you clearly inhabit a very sheltered environment. Poor Karen.....It`s obvious from the other forums that you`ve poked your huge ego into, that you love the last word, and feed off belligerence. You still don`t get the Doctor thing do you....wow! Keep it coming Karen, I`ve got all day.......
Conventional wisdom states that you should never argue with an idiot, as they will drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience, but I must admit to making an exception with you.
I honestly thought it would take at least a couple of weeks to to reduce you to the indignity of puerile name-calling and foul language. I must admit to feeling some sympathy for you, as you’re obviously poorly educated, and therefore lack any real vocabulary or ability to debate without resorting to immature behaviour. Fantastic entertainment nonetheless. Had I known cavemen like you populated this forum, I would have joined a long time ago.
Great point about the UK’s national health service though, we should adopt your model with 26 million Americans uninsured, and the vast majority totally reliant on their employer for health cover. You really should make some sort of attempt to educate yourself before you pontificate.
Anyway, what do you have for me today Karen?
Should I form a new political party, vote for someone different or just quit whining? Utter gold this!!
You really do have an opinion on everything don`t you, even though they are ignorant and ill informed. The vast majority of employer supplied health cover has exclusions for pre-existing conditions, chronic illnesses or specific medical procedures. As a result, employees find that certain treatments they need are not covered, leaving them having to pay out-of-pocket for those services. Makes me wonder if you have any real world experience, as your clueless, benighted opinions are entire conjecture and supposition. I guess that`s the result of having your perspectives drawn entirely from Google. Debating with you really is like kicking a puppy......or any dumb animal for that matter. Why don`t you take up some secondary education, or evening classes perhaps. Real knowledge is hidden in books you know. Can`t wait for your next post Karen!
The expression Karen was coined by us Brits, but in any event I understand the concept perfectly, and you fit the description beautifully. Let me try to explain my point regarding employer supplied health cover(that`s what it`s called in the UK) in words of one syllable, for your limited vocabulary. I don`t use "one-sided media" for my source material, or even Google as you do, I research my subject matter and draw logical conclusions. You should try it sometime. Waiting for a year or 2 isn`t unusual for specialist treatment, and our NHS provides a comprehensive service, available to all and based on clinical need, not an individual's ability to pay. It has it`s issues but ask the average Yank which they would prefer. The thing is, I`m not kicking a puppy, I`m kicking you, and it`s immensely satisfying watching you getting all bent out of shape. No amount of imagination or university education is required to deal with you, and as your MLK stated, nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. You tick both boxes Karen😂
