My guy has ED but not all of the time. He has parkinson's disease which explains the issue or so he has been told. He is seriously considering getting a penile implant, and I really am not crazy about it. Any ideas, words of advice, etc,?

he has tried viagra which gives him headaches and a stuffy nose and cialis too. he is able to masturbate and ejaculate (in a semi erect state) but he feels like he is not pleasing me but he does in other ways! he will be 62 next month and we both have parkinsons. i am 59, and we dont live together so its not like we see each other every day. i am trying to convince him that it is not necessary but ultimately it is his decision, but he admits he is a horrible patient and i am afraid that this will have a bad effect on our relationship because i cannot deal with anxiety well. And he knows this.

Since he is able to have erections, it will surprise me if a surgeon agrees to this

I agree with Darryl. Your partner could not receive a penile implant under the NHS. The only way would be to have it done privately- and that would cost him 'an arm and a leg'!

I have a penile implant. It is meant to be a last resort when all else fails.

The corpus cavernosa is eliminated when the cylinders are put in, so there is no going back. If he has ED only a portion of the time it can be high blood pressure, psychological, etc. Check that out first. If you then go with an implant it is an excellent solution.

I have the same problem, intermittent ED. I haven't done anything about it since my back pain makes any physical activity almost impossible. There are several new advances that make penile implants multifunction devices. You can add a laser pointer, a stylus for a touch screen phone or computer or even a Bluetooth speaker (so your partner can hear you coming). I know this is a serious issue and I am not trying to be flippant, I have just found that a little humor helps keep things in perspective.

I think men feel about ED the way women feel about a mastectomy, something my wife has gone through. Even though you reassure him, not being able to perform likely still upsets him simply because he can't.

I have never looked into implants but now I am curious. If I find anything interesting I will let you know.
