Ask your Doctor about this:
collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (Xiaflex). This medicine is approved for use in men with a palpable lump from plaque in the penis that causes a curvature of at least 30 degrees during erection.
There are other treatments, but those can be costly, If you have no insurance.
I have insurance but The Xiaflex pharma controls the market re: what my doc gets paid for. That X is some scary shit that is documented to disolve healthy dick tissue along with scar tissue. 2 Uros have refused to use it.
It's been a while now since radiation, about 15 years. I had Lupron before and during radiation. Lupron kills libido. A while after radiation I began to regain erections and noticed I was getting a noticeable curvature. I immediately consulted my Uro and was told to start taking vitamin E. It took quite a while but it straightened quite a bit, but still not back to where it started.
HI Olman,
I have 17 radiation treatments in my rear view mirror, 26 more to go. I was not given any hormone shots, but my libido was affected. The burning while urinating is almost intolerable. I began taking AZO (a generic for Pyridium ) and it has helped a bit. I had a MRI guide biopsy prior to my treatments and I think the biopsy has not healed , and some of the burning is coming from that biopsy.
I have talked to several who has had the same type of EBRT , and they have no burning. I have herd of side effects from radiation years after they art completed. Not looking forward to that.
I had 40 EBRT treatments with no side effects, in fact I wondered if I was being treated at first. About half way through I noticed my stamina diminishing. I was walking a lot then and by the end of treatments I could hardly make it to the end of the block and back without resting. A few years down the road I suddenly was filling the toilet with blood. That was diagnosed as a result of radiation. A couple years later I suddenly started urinating blood. Again it was diagnosed as a result of radiation. Scare tissue they said. My PSA numbers began raising a while after my treatments and the treatment was declared a failure, so I have been on Lupron ever since. Not a fun ride with the side effects of Lupron. My libido is non existent after all this time, but there are other ways to satisfy my Honey, but not much pleasure on my side. My best wishes for a healing out come!
I had the same problem it went on for what seems a long time and I thought it would never end, but after being diagnosed with pc I was given a vacuum plump by my consultant, then my cancer nurse told me some of her patient had good results from taking vitamin e. So what seems like a life time my Petronius has been cured. Good luck
Thanks. Almost a year since symptoms began...bummer anniversary.
Same as Rob23. I am a 5.5 yr prostate cancer survivor. Was dx early so surgery got it all. I used injections for erections but also had a pump for blood flow as I lost natural nighttime erections. The shots can cause a curvature if not done right due to scar tissue. I would apply vitamin E to the area and use the pump in the following link and eventually it straightened some.
xiaflex not only failed to cure my peyronies but it put me in the ER with retention. Luckily I was able to urinate normally after wearing a catheter for weeks. The plaques were on the under-side of penis leading to a difficult downward bend. Long story short, after reading a post on iodine supplementation in the advanced prostate cancer section, I bought a bottle of iodoral and started using it (not too heavy, just a half tablet every 2nd or 3rd day). Less than two months later my peyronies bend was totally gone. I had dealt with peyronies for a year and a half. I had also started using Acetyl L-carnitine for the duration of my peyronies but it alone didn't end the problem. Maybe the combination did it?
