Are there people out there who take two seizure medications? I am on 1000 mg of keppra in the morning, and in the evening. ALSO I take 200 mg of dilantin in the morning, and at night also. I have had no side effects. But does it work for people also. a DOCTOR was trying to cut dilantin due to my gums being bad from it. ( But I am getting a fake plate of teeth)

Take two seizure medications?
Hi yes I am on 2000mg epillim daily and 50mg lamotrigine xx
I’m on two different ones as well. Have been for years.
Hi.
I'm currently on (1g keppra, 200 lamotrogine, 100 zonisomide. Twice daily)and 10 mg of Clobazam
I wouldn't worry about taking combination drugs. My neuro has swapped mine around when they stop being effective.
Worst side effect is the memory stuff.

Hi there,
I take 2000mg Keppra both am & pm, also 75mg Phenytoin & 10mg Clobazam at pm, I’ve taken this combination for 8 years now.
So I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Having had Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy for fifty years, I have usually been on two medications Vimpat 400 mg and Briviact 75 mg at the moment, been on that mixture for three years, one seizure. In the process on moving from one set of medication to another, can be the trickiest, usually taking about two-three months, the brain accumulating to them, can cause very violent seizures; Vimpat on it's own, caused a double major seizure, fractured my skull; lamictal on it's own caused very violent "electric shock" type seizures, almost causing a major heart attack; Epilim [parkinson's disease type side effects, actually on Lamictal with this at the time]: these are examples but I have ALWAYS preferred having at least TWO epilepsy medications at one time, my epilepsy specialists agrees on this, for such events! ps. a wee hint, Lamictal are infamous for rotting the teeth, my dentist noted this!🥴
