Hi, My 18 y/o daughter has CP and Seizure Disorder. She is on Keppra, Lamictal and Epilim to control her seizures. Will an occasional glass of wine upset the balance of these medications?

Hi Lolo
Alcohol can affect people with epilepsy in different ways, but some people are able to drink it occassionally, without any problems.

Hi lolo I’m matthew I’ve got Cp and a seizure disorder too I’m also on keppra too I’m 20 how are you and your daughter doing
I have epilepsy due to a brain lesion. I'm taking 500mg off lamotrigine er (lamictal) per day. I'm able to drink as much as I want. The only issue is that if I drink too much (and I mean A LOT) I feel like I might have a seizure the next day and usually sleep most of the day and evening. I have never had a seizure afterwards though. Im not saying that it would be safe for your daughter, just that it's possible. I'd recommend asking her pcp or neurologist to see what they think. She seems to be on a lot of anticonvulsants, so I would be very wary of letting her drink without consulting them first.
No I also have CP and Epilepsy and take Eplim , I have the occasional drink with no problems, but when I took other meds, i couldn’t drink anything
