The law changed in 2010, The Equality act has since taken over the disability discrimination act, it is the individual who is recognised as disabled rather than the illness itself generally, especially important with endo with 1/5th of women having endo, they can't all be classified as disabled when many have no symptons and very little chance of the condition developing much further than one or two small lesions. And it's only a small but nevertheless significant percentage that go on to be ravaged by the disease.

So if you are disabled by illness (what ever that may be) or you are a carer of someone who is disabled you have rights under the Equality Act 2010 that you might not have had before.

I guess because the symptoms are so varied for everyone. Some people might have a lot endo and yet not be in a lot of pain whilst some others might only have a little endo and be in excruciating pain, so they can't classify the illness as a disability but rather classify the individual as disabled due to their symptoms.
