Endo on the bladder can cause urinary symptoms inc urinary frequency, urinary urgency and urinary retention. But it is not unique to endo and can be a bladder infection, water infection etc. According to "Endometriosis for Dummies" it says:

'You need a urine sample. Having a urine analysis and culture to check your urine for bacteria and other abnormalities is important, especially if you have seemingly endless urinary tract infections. Cultures will be negative for bacteria when you have endometriosis or interstitial cystitis - and antibiotics can do nothing to cure your symptoms.'

In other words if comes back with bacteria infection then it is just a water infection. If comes back negative, then it could be due to endo on the bladder.

Definately worth getting it looked into by your GP for antibiotics if shows up on their test and especially if you keep having water infections often. But you probably already are doing that!

Re the sex I found this on webmd.boots.com which says : 'Women sometimes get bladder infections after sex. Vaginal intercourse makes it easier for bacteria to reach the bladder through the urethra. Some women contract the infection -- sometimes called "honeymoon cystitis" -- almost every time they have sex.'

Hope this helps and that you get some relief soon. Best wishes x

Thank you well I have just finished a 6 month course of zoledex so waiting to se what the pain is going to be like with my first period not looking forward to it but I just lee getting a lot of water infection like every 1 in 3 times I'm in pain without stomach and needing a wee but nothing comes out and it stings like mad that bad that my eyes water

Hi - try making sure you pee after sex, I find that is a great help to prevent 'real' cystitis infections.

However, my endo used to mimic the pain of a UTI but as squidgy says you wont have any bacteria in your urine in this case so its definitely worth getting it checked out by GP. You might need to suggest to your GP that it is caused by your endo though, despite suffering from UTI type pain for years it was never linked to my endo (until a lap last year had the unexpected consequence of clearing this up)

My only other tip is that when you are in pain drink as much water as you can in one go, I found it much less painful to actually have a load of urine to pass rather than trying to squeeze out a few drops!

Good luck :-)

I get them constantly, had at least one a week for two years. Sometimes confirmed sometimes no bacteria found. Two weeks ago I had a large nodule and endo deposits removed from pie pouch between the bladder and womb . My symptoms are much better now x

I get mine from amazon, Swanson 800mg, 180 capsules for £9.49 but you can get them from any chemist. These work out at the cheapest if you search amazon and compared to chemist prices. Also, I have found these to work and now don't want to change incase others don't!! They are great!

Yes mine last around 12 hours and its agony! I have a routine for when it starts, drink water mixed with a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda (same as cystitis powder but cheaper!) then I sit in the bath until I can feel it easing off (that can be for hours!!) make sure you drink tonns of water and cranberry juice! That's my routine and how I deal with it. But yes it hurst so much!!!
