zoladex: Hi guys i am 53 yr woman i have... - Endometriosis UK
zoladex
That's a nice long break you have had. My period returned after just 1 month of stopping zoladex (8weeks after the last depo). 5 months is about the average, some take much less (me) and some can last longer. You now should speak to your GP about trying something else in the way of menstrual control.
Depending on what you have had before,. there are pills and implants and mirena coils etc.
Then also the endo diet to try and see if cutting out certain foods can lessen the endo pains.
Failing all of that, it's hysterectomy that's the next option if you are over 50. Or just coping however you can for a few more years till you naturally menopause.
Age 55 is the average age for menopause, but that's an average some stop sooner and many stop later.
I was rather keen on the thought that my trauma with zoladex would mean my ovaries stayed shut down to be honest, but it wasn't to be.
