I have had surgery for endo 14 years ago, very lucky as was successful as I have 3 kids, and still hardly any endo probs at all, don't want to ruin this by wrong bc choice! Wondering about getting copper iud as non hormonal method, does anyone out there have any experience of this? Thanks!

Copper IUD and endometriosis, any experiences?
Our stories sound very similar ! I'm also mum to three. Booked in to have the coil fitted on 19th march. My endometriosis has become debilitating over the last year or so. I bleed constantly and nothing seems to help. I'm trying the coil but have heard as much bad as good so am nervous ! My last resort will be endometrial ablation as at 37. A and three kids to look after a. Hysterectomy is not a great option because of the recovery time. Plus it's likely to only be a short term cure as the hormones and drugs that they give you afterwards encourage endometriosis to grow. It's a lose lose situation isn't it ?! I'll let you know how I get on xx
Thanks for replying we do sound similar but I'm so sorry to hear your endometriosis is still so bad. I'm going for my 'fitting' on 7th March. I am worried as reading online there are so many good & bad experiences its hard to know what to do, plus not wanting to upset my body! I guess at least this is reversible with no hormones involved. Trying to find info on this is quite hard even online. Good luck to you too & will say how mine went too. Xx
