I don't think Doctors know anything about pain.! In fact i think they don't want to know about anything they can't see.
Sorry - just me having a bad day...

I happen to agree with you 100% x
I KNOW!
My gp told me last time I saw him that he'd never had a drip put in!!! I thought they did that on each other in medical school, wow was I wrong. How can they be sympathetic if they've never even had a hospital appointment? makes me mad
i completely agree most gp's just dont have a clue, my new gp is not too bad a bit weird and eccentric, sits in a dark room with only a small lamp for light and crucifixes on the wall, pretty scary when i went in but she was completely understanding.
I totally agree 100% too on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!! They do not have a clue!!!!!!!!! If they are ok healthwise, which lets face it most of them are or they wouldn't be able to continue to work and most of them are men, then they just don't 'get it' and are not interested in the slightest, especially with helping us when we want help. They seem to turn their backs on problems that are out of the ordinary like a cold or the flu jab. They are just glorified prescription writers.......
Meant to add a friend of mine went out with a GP. He was married but told my friend he was separated. Which of course he wasn't and this went of for two years, anyway a while later he told her his (ex) wife had cancer because she lost a lot of hair, she didn't and had alopicia(sos not sure of spelling). Then told her he had to split with my friend because his mum had died. She is still alive.
When I went to see a male doctor, which I will never go to see ever again, I went to ask for a prescription, yet again to do with endo but not run of the mill stuff. He told me I wont write this I will loose my job and just totally dismissed my plea having a very nasty attitude towards me.
I guess he was so out of his depth with my question that he didn't know how to cope with it. And all I was trying to get was a prescription for intralipids. What an a,hole!!!!!!!!!!X
WOW - and there was me feeling guilty for having said it. Your feelings are so strong makes me want to go out with my banner and protest or something. I haven't had the privalage of seeing a young GP. Do they have a better knowledge base and willingness to think for themselves do you think?? Would be interested to hear anyone's opinion on that..
Off to see chinese herbalist today having been through acupuncturists, cranial, laser therapy etc, etc, etc. As usual going with lots of optimism for a miracle cure.
All i really want is just to be given the chance of a laparoscopy instead of being fobed off with "you're too old". I would concede if they had found a diagnosis doing it their way but after 4 years they haven't so what have they got to loose. ???
When I was 17, my (female) doctor told me I was imagining my pains,
It took 4 years to finally be diagnosed.
I'm now almost 23 and want to go kick her in the vagina and then say "sure it isnt in your head?!"
Sorry.
