sorry to ask again, just quite worried- does anyone know how thick in mm your endometrial lining should be when taking the pill?

Hi -

Before you get too worried, the lining can vary quite a lot from person to person and during the course of the month. If you've got one reading from immediately before a period this can be very different from several readings spread over a month. The largest I ever managed was 25mm, which is definitely large, but it turned out to be fine, so even if yours is very thick it might not be a cause for concern. I believe 10mm or less is considered normal (although I have heard different things from different doctors).

If it's consistently very large you should ask your doctor about a hysteroscopy so that the doctors can check whether you have hyperplasia, or maybe polyps or fibroids (which can make the lining look thick on a scan).

Good luck!
