I have had GI and gynae symptoms for years and had been to GP multiple times only to be brushed off, told I had IBS despite no treatments for IBS ever having an affect of symptoms. I have abdo and pelvic pain, pain in my legs and back, diarrheoa which I now get daily, nausea and fatigue.
I finally got an ultrasound this week which showed endometrioma on my ovaries, fluid in the cul de sac and adhesions and was told it looks like endometriosis. I'm now on progesterone to see if it helps and if not then will be referred to gynae.
I've been goggling of course and am reading things about different stages and am concerned that with the ultrasound findings that I might have stage 4 endo. Is it right to wait for so long to get a gynae opinion? I know gynae waiting lists in my area are huge so waiting to just be referred is causing worry. This is all so new to me I don't know what to expect? Any advice would be gratefully received.
