They don’t check for this during a lap normally. I had one 1st August, DIE removed and detaching of stuff. I’ve unfortunately continued to have significant lower back pain and unexplained bleeding.
They aren’t certain if it’s because I’m one of the 3/10 surgery doesn’t help or the adenomyosis. There are usually indicators on an ultrasound carried out by specialist which indicate it, that’s how I was provisionally diagnosed. I think the only way to actually know is testing after a hysterectomy x
even after my total hysterectomy, the constant said the histology was unclear re adeno, however, he said it was v likely. It was never mentioned before surgery and I had to look up what it meant! It was not mentioned after my initial lap.
I’ve had both an MRI and specialist ultrasound show no adeno. But then after my endo excision the consultant said I likely have it because my uterus looked bulky during surgery.
Not sure what to believe, but from what I’ve heard it’s very common for the conditions to co-exist
Hi i have both adenomyosis and endometriosis, my adenomyosis was discovered in 2017,via an internal ultrasound, so yes unfortunately yiu can have both. Sending you a safe hug 🤗
My lap surgery in january showed severe endo i was refered for a mri which found endo, adeo, cysts fibroids and other bits.Currently waiting for hysterectomy now.
I was diagnosed with adenomyosis via ultrasound because it was quite obvious. I'm too scared to have the lap so haven't been diagnosed with endometriosis (I suspect I have both).
Hi there, I had a lap that found endo which didn't remove or alleviate any symptoms, a few months later I started getting new ones (terrible lower back pain and pelvic pain, bloating). Eventually, signs of adenomyosis came up on a scan, but that was my eighth scan! My GP said that it all depends on whether the person interpreting the scan is familiar with adenomyosis and many people aren't.
Hope that helps in some way. Yin yoga and a gluten free diet along with being on the pill have helped me manage my symptoms a bit.
