If anybody can explain this to me in simple terms I would be very grateful! After my lap I had a follow up appointment where I was told I had endo in pouch of Douglas and that was about it. I never received the letter I’ve attached and randomly found it on my NHS app! It reads like I have it in other places and was wondering how this would affect me?.
Anyway any translation would be helpful

I read it as they have found in POD and ligaments to POD, and also several on the ovarian fossa which is I believe like the wall where your ovaries are and rectovaginal could be the POD ligaments where they have found it and may need further investigation later. Dont hold me to anything tho I may be wrong x
Thanks for your reply! I wondered which ligaments it meant, didn’t know if they related to POD or somewhere else. I don’t know where it relates to in the body but I always have pain on the left. Anyway that so for the insight x
POD is situated between bladder and bowel ligaments are from the POD to like your bowel/back . I have endometriosis in the same place and get left sided pain most too. My consultant couldn't tel me the full extent of mine is I'd been off zoladex 6 month before (I'd had a lap during taking this and they found nothing) but I had adhesions so he said it was likely stage 3/4 I have x
you have rectovaginal endo. This is where endo has affected the uterosacral ligaments - these support the uterus - there is also endo in the POD as you say. There is also endo in the ovarian fossa. That means the space the ovaries sit in within the pelvic cavity.
The report also says the rectum abuts the uterosacral ligaments. As those support the uterus the rectum is pushed (or stuck) up against your uterus so are out of position.
You need referral to the bsge endo centre. Have they done that? It’s what the last bit means. If they haven’t then your gp can. Drop me a message if you need more help with that.
Thank you for replying! I had my follow up about a month after and all he said was endo in pouch of Douglas that could either have further surgery for or medication. I said as the pain was manageable I thought I’d manage but the bowel issues and see how I went. I don’t understand why they don’t explain things properly I knew something was off with my bowels so thank you so much for explaining!x
Remember too that endo causes inflammation throughout the pelvis and that inflammation affects bladder and bowel. Often when pain is manageable endo is silently growing and causing more issues to other organs without us knowing. Make sure they do that referral to the specialist team as they will have people that can regularly scan you to keep a check on progression and if endo is causing damage to any other organs. The scanners at bsge centres use mri or ultrasound but are trained to spot endo and better placed to keep an eye on things for you. Good luck x
