Prostrap Brown Discharge

Hi all, I’ve been on Prostrap since the start of Feb this year. I have stage 4 endo and large endo on my ovaries.. I did have a period to begin with but then all settled down. I had my last prostrap in July but the last week I’ve had a brown discharge and spotting.and itchy down below . I’m feeling today quite crampy and bloated .. I’m really worried about my period coming as I don’t know where I’ll go from here x

Hi there i had this in February this year the brown spotting and i lost a clot on the first day it lasted three weeks. I've had no bleeding since, i started on prostrap August last year. I spoke to a nurse about it and a clinical practitioner and they said this can happen and not to worry. But it might be a good idea to get the itching checked out, could just be dryness causing it, and they might be able to prescribe something for that, or perhaps thrush. Hope you get things sorted out soon and my information has helped, i know it totally stressed me out when it happened to me, sending you a big hug x 🤗

Hi this is normal. The itchiness will be estrogen returning - I've read quite a bit about it. A lot of women get thrush when they go on HRT because of the increase in estrogen and your hormones are returning after Prostrap so it's likely you'll feel this way too as your body prepares for a period. The discharge is probably blood before your period which sounds like it's returning. If the itching gets bad see your pharmacist. It's awful coming off these drugs and going back to square one. Speak to your consultant about your treatment plan to find out what's next xx
