Period 4 months on Zoladex, and pain returned

Hi all,

Recently diagnosed with moderate-severe endometriosis after years of waiting. I was put onto Zoladex for treatment 4 months ago which has put me in a temporary medical menopause. I have been having these injections every month and my endo pain has almost vanished. However, last week I had a period (which I shouldn't do) and now the pain has come back with the vengeance. I am worried, as the GP said to let them know if I get a period (other than within the first 2 weeks). I sent in a form a week ago but they still haven't gotten back to me.

For context, I haven't had a period since before I was pregnant around 4 and a half years ago. I went onto the implant contraception after giving birth as I was told I can't have any more children and I would die if I had another. So no periods, and one appears when I am supposed to be in medical pause and causes my horrible endometriosis pain to return.

Has anyone else had periods while on Zoladex after the initial 2 weeks? What was the outcome? I am worried I may have ovarian cysts as the pain is specifically extremely intense around my right ovary.

I still bleed on zoladex. You may have fibroids which tend to go hand in hand with endo. See your consultant (ring the secreatary). You may need the implant earlier or the 3 month one as it does tend to run out. I've been on zoladex for 9 months and I've bled most months. I no longer hemorrhage but I'm still bleeding and get painful cramp. I'm 51 with stage 4 endometriosis and fibroids.

Thanks, I did get a scan for fibroids and cysts and I don't have them. If it continues I am going to see to get my HRT changed.
