Adenomyosis?

Hello everyone,

I've recently received a diagnosis of endometriosis, but I'm wondering if I have both endo and adenomyosis. As the only medication that provides me with any relief is muscle relaxants (diazipam)

To those out there with adenomyosis, would you say you experience or experienced the same? Would it be worth asking the GP to refer me again for a more extensive look?

Thank you.

I'm hope you're having a pain free day today.

Hey,

If you're looking for a second opinion, then I would get your GP to refer you to a BSGE accredited centre.

Centres with this accreditation are hospitals with proven track records for diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis. They also tend to be the endometriosis research centres with new trials ongoing.

All BSGE centres can be found:

Hi I have a diagnosis of both, my adenomyosis was found on a private transvaginal ultrasound, if you are wanting quicker confirmation it is a route you can try, I paid £79 for mine and it comes with a full report with scan pictures that you can send to the GP. Not sure where you are based but I used ultrasound care which is in liverpool. Hope you get sorted soon x

I'm surprised the Dr prescribed you diazepam. Do you get tablets every month for your period? Tranexamic acid helps with the bleeding and codeine and mefenamic acid for the pain. Currently on the mini pill and it has been a lifesaver. There's different types of progestins and brands so it took a few tries. There's also the combined pill but I can't take that.I have adenomyosis (diagnosed via ultrasound) but not sure about endo as I haven't had a laparoscopy (the only way to diagnose it).

Not what you're looking for?
