Symptoms worse after internal exam

Hey :) new here!I have had my endometriosis removed with surgery before (about 10 years ago) and I have been blessed to have 3 children since then. Anyway I have essentially lived with the return of my endometriosis- I have a High pain threshold for the most part for 10 years. It did actually get to the point about 4 months ago where it became unbearable so I was referred for an internal ultrasound (even though this can't confirm things, as I know from history).

Anyway, as I was there the lovely doctor told me my entire left hand side (bladder, uterus, kidney, ovary and bowel) all moved together as one, no seperate movement at all. Reluctantly my doctors have referred me back to gynae (thankfully!) But since then I can honestly say my pain has been SO much worse. Any time I need a wee, or ride my bike or honestly just moving I am having severe cramps. My period pain makes me want to throw up, and my poor husband cannot touch me intimately because it makes me want to cry.

Just wondering if anyone has had heightened pain since an internal and can offer any wisdom??

Ps. I am really really REALLY hoping for a full hysterectomy- but I have been told that it is likely going to be a no.

Thankyou kindly!

Hi Bumblebee11, I'm so sorry the pain has been so awful. This happens to me also. In the lead up to the first excision surgery I would be crying in pain following the internal ultrasound and it would go on for like a week sometimes 2 afterwards. My scans showed nothing but when they did excision endo had glued both ovaries and ureter together and also had lots of endo on the pelvic ligaments so I think any pressure on that arras just causes inflammation . I've been finding that turmeric tea/gummies really helped with bloating etc. Hope it settles down soon and they agree to hysterectomy for you xx

Thankyou so much for replying :)And it's comforting (In a roundabout way) to know that this is "normal" after the internal exam. I'm also very sorry that you suffer too.

I'm just going to say it- it sucks!

X
