My sister is experiencing pelvic pain and may have endometriosis. She is currently waiting to see a gynecologist. One symptom she is experiencing is pain in her urethra. More specifically, she says it can feel like someone is sticking a needle up her urethra and at its worst it feels like someone is sticking a red hot knife into her urethra. The weird thing is, it seems connected to her belly button. By this I mean that when she applies pressure to her bell button the pain and discomfort in her genitals increases.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a symptom of endometriosis? Does anyone have any advice for how to deal with it?

hi Twin4Life, speaking from my own experience, if your sister still has hers, she should push for them to rule out appendicitis. I had chronic appendicitis for years and at times it was excruciating, if it’s leaking into the abdominal cavity (maybe even at a low level), it could cause weird pains because it could be going anywhere. At times I wasn’t able to bear any pressure on my belly. Ct scan (not ultrasound) found mine, I nearly died from it last year when it ultimately ruptured, and that was after 5 years of gynaecological procedures with them guessing what it was (menopause /polyps/endo) due to my age (51 now).
Thank you for your reply. I will definitely ask about this at her next appointment.
Did your chronic appendicitis cause pain in your genitals or just in your lower abdomen? (If you are uncomfortable answering this question, then please don't.)
