menopause/Desogestrel

ok, this feels like - probably is - a stupid question but… one of the options I have been given for diagnosed deep endo is Desogestrel to hopefully stop monthly heavy periods. I am wary firstly because the pill has not treated me well in the past, but also as a woman well into perimenopause - how would you know if you finally had gone through the menopause if your periods are being artificially stopped?

Hi

I tried desogestral for a short time in between being diagnosed and first op, I was 51, did nothing to help the pain. I ended up having a hysterectomy, which helped some pain but not all of it.

You wouldn’t be able to tell, but they don’t know if when you hit menopause that it would help either, it’s quite an old fashioned view these days.
