Hysterectomy or not ...

Hi,

I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. The adhesions and scarring I have have caused multiple internal hernias and on occasions my small bowel has got trapped in the pockets/ hernias resulting in pain and being pretty unwell.

I have been told I can have a hysterectomy if I would like one plus the removal of my right ovary as my right side is where I struggle with most. I felt fine agreeing to the hysterectomy but now I have a date confirmed, I'm having second thoughts ..

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Part of me thinks maybe I shouldn't because what if I did want another child in the future (already have one child), but the other part of me thinks would I even be able to have a successful pregnancy let alone fall pregnant.

Sorry I haven't asked any questions as such on this post, but would love to hear from others with similar experiences or advice x

I can't comment on the child dilemma as I haven't got children but I do know that this disease can be relentless and I had an abandoned hysterectomy in September as my organs are fused with stage 4 endometriosis. I wish I'd been able to have one earlier. I wouldn't be sat here now on zoladex and still bleeding with fibroids, cysts, adenomyosis and endometriosis xxxx
