is endometriosis dangerous if not removed?

just googling and thinking- is endometriosis dangerous if it is left and not removed. Does it just keep growing and growing?

There is no one size fits all with endometriosis. It can be anything from superficial to deep, slow growing or rapidly progressive.

Treatment is for pain and/or infertility. But a caveat to that would be if deep endo is infiltrating a vital organ or structure (such as the bowel or ureters) that could be dangerous and would warrant surgery regardless of symptoms.

Each person and their endo are individual so as said there is no one answer to this that applies to everyone.
