I’m just replying to say from my experience I haven’t been able to find anyone. I hope someone here can suggest someone. I think endo can be highly variable on its affect for each individual, depending on type and where it’s located. I had a laparoscopy in Dec with grade II-III endo removed from my ovary and bowel adhesions. So far I’ve done my own research. The advise from fertility gynaes has all been very generic, but I don’t have endometrioma, so hoping there’s someone out there who is more knowledgeable about that. It could be worthwhile posting on the endometriosis forum.
Endometriosis is one the leading causes of fertility.
Probably you need to see someone who specializes on it? I have fertility issues and I decided to discharge myself from my fertility specialist first as they wanted to operate on me with without doing further scans.
I referred myself to Mr. Fevzi Shakir of Cleveland Clinic London. He had me undergo pelvic MRI. I also found out from my blood test that my ovarian reserve or AMH level is low but still normal.
In general, a high level of AMH means you have more eggs available, and a low level means your egg supply is shrinking and your time to get pregnant may be shorter.
I was given the option to take medications to suppress the growth of my endometriomas or to have it removed thru laparoscopy. I chose the latter since I wanted to get pregnant.
I was told that after when my endometriomas are removed, my AMH level will further decrease but since it is still not below normal, he’s not worried. My possibility of pregnancy will increase but I can only see the benefits in the few months.
Hope my story helps. If you’re doing private and looking for a gynaecologist who specializes in endometrioma, I definitely recommend Mr. Shakir.
I also heard fertility specialists from Portland hospital are really good
I do recommend Dr Saab at CRGH and Professor Ertan Seridogan at Portland hospital. I’ve been under care of both of them. Both are amazing and I trust them very much
