Telephone appointment with specialist?

Hello all!🥰 I've been waiting since October to be referred to a specialist following my mri results which showed endo in my bowel among other places.

I've finally been given an appointment, but I'm just a bit taken back that it's a telephone one? Is this normal??!

I don't want the doctor to undermine the pain and I feel not being able to see them face to face and also see the mri scan too is just going to make it harder? I'm not sure what to expect from this now because how can they tell me anything concrete based on a scan now that was done pre October??

I have had many a telephone consultation with the consultants. I’m sure it the new way of working for the NHS and Private hospitals x

I had a scan Dec 2022 (having waited 2 years because of no appointments being available with the endo clinic) showing stage 4/5 deep endo in bowel etc. and the follow-up appointment wasn't until December 2023.... over the phone with a general registrar because the Endo consultant was too busy even though my appointment was listed as being with him... just for the scan results. They assured me 12months wait was fine as not much should have changed 🤷🏼‍♀️ symptoms certainly did get worse in that time. Waiting for laparoscopy probably be in 2025.
