so I’m finally back at gyne next week for a check up as I’m still bleeding have been bleeding now constantly for a full year, tablets haven’t helped stop, I’ve had a scan in the mean time which gyne sent me for, I’ve previously asked for a hysterectomy I am 32 this with 3 kids and I don’t want anymore I want to just get back to normal life without this he said he would rather go down the zoladex injections to shut my ovaries down but will get basically early menopause I’ve previously spoke to women who have done this route and said they’ve had horrible symptoms that they wouldn’t recommend, I’ve spoken to a couple who have had a partial hysterectomy and just had the womb taken, I would like to maybe speak to a few more people who have gone down this route?
Any advice and help is much appreciated I am fed up now of being like this I would be happy to just hopefully come out this appointment with what I am hoping for
thanks everyone x

I went down the zoladex route and it was heaven for me! No periods, no pain, mood improvement. I had tibolone to take along side it which stopped the side effects. Zoladex will cause chemical menopause while you take it, so you could try and then stop if it doesn't help. I have always understood that for endometriosis leaving the ovaries during hysterectomy won't help, as they will still produce estrogen which 'feeds' endometriosis.
I am now on the waiting list for total hysterectomy, due to the results I had from zoladex. I have been asking for a hysterectomy for 10 years, since I was 32.
Zoladex is worth trying first, as it really works for quite a high proportion of people and doesn't involve surgery, but hysterectomy is also okay if that doesn't work out and you need one, so keep that as a fall-back plan.
