Face to face vs zoom consult

Does everyone feel a zoom consult is equal to a face to face appointment? I need a follow up consult having had an MRI to investigate pelvic pain, all private. My initial consult was by zoom, they’ve offered me a zoom or face to face appointment. It’s an hour away so I’m tempted to just have a zoom consult, but is there worth to the consultant seeing you in terms of really ‘seeing’ the patient in front of them. Or am I being silly? I don’t need a physical exam, but maybe he will do that if I do go? I’m not yet had an exam, even by the GP.

Personal preference but I always prefer a face to face appointment. Especially if there's a lot to take in. Hope it goes well.

I’ve done a mixture of face-to-face and Zoom appointments with my consultant. They’ve all been useful, but after my MRI I opted for face-to-face and he drew me a diagram to show where my endo, adeno and fibroids were, which I found pretty helpful. That’s not to say every consultant would do the same though! I think it was useful to me to have met in person prior to the day of surgery as it helps with building the relationship. If you have doubts, maybe opt for face-to-face, as you’re unlikely to regret having invested the time.
