Happy New year to you all endowarriors and apologies for the TMI but I started my period yesterday and I was so sore and bloated, I looked pregnant and stomach was hard to touch and the extreme foul farting was beyond embarrassing. I could not poop no matter how much I wanted to. The feeling of being pulled apart and the pain was crippling but it felt like a block was there preventing me from pooping Anyone else having this
I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2018 and it was already on bladder and rectum and no further action would be taken by surgeon 'for fear of damaging other organs!'
I'm on ponstan for pain 500mg 3 times Daily and even on that yesterday the pain was bad and going to the toilet was horrible.

A Happy New Year to you to. I'm sorry if this is not a very helpful suggestion but is the pain relief causing the constipation? Apart from that, I no longer have periods but by chance on my last two periods took an antihistamine which reduced the pain substantially. It might have been a fluke or personal - there is an old Endometriosis UK post on these pages asking for people's experiences of antihistamines but few replied. Check with your doctor first. I hope you find some relief soon.
Hi nanomyous, I don't think that is a fluke about the antihistamine, there is actually a connection between excess histamine & endo - endometriosis.net/clinical/... . I discovered it recently when I started getting unexplained face rashes that appeared after eating. I started a low histamine diet & a lot of my symptoms have improved on it. I'm sure it doesn't apply to all endometriosis sufferers, but for some of us I think it's definitely worth looking into x
Hi! Thank you for the link, that's very interesting and good that your symptoms have improved. I haven't been on a low histamine diet as such but had already cut out foods which caused me a problem (tomatoes, vinegar) without realising the histamine link. I agree it may only help some women, otherwise it would probably be more widely known about.
If the pain relief has been working for you for two years already then it probably isn't the problem. I really do sympathise, the pain and bloating is awful. It's a huge relief not having periods anymore but it was an easier choice for me being near menopause anyway. I'd go back to the doctors, there must be something else they can offer you even if they can't do surgery.
